Turn off Your Laptop
As usual turn off your laptop and unplug it. You then go on reemove the battery, CD/DVD drive, and hard drive. Next use a screwdriver to remove the screw holding cover and then pull out the hard drive sled.Tur After pulling the laptop over and remove the laptop screws holding the keyboard. Now flip the laptop over, open it, and lift the keyboard out. And then unplug the ribbon cable connecting the keyboard to the motherboard.
Remove The Screws
Next, remove the screws holding the bezel and keyboard palm rest. Then carefully remove the plastic on the sides, then lift the bezel and palm rest out. Now unplug the old laptop fan and remove the screws holding the heatsink and laptop fan. You then remove the entire unit from the laptop.If there is any residue at the bottom of the heatsink and CPU, remove it. Now apply a thin layer of thermal compound on the CPU and replace the heat sink and laptop fanReplace the screws, plug the laptop fan in and then reassemble the laptop. Finally plug the laptop in and turn it on..You should hear your new laptop fan blowing air to all the vents.
