How To Fix Your Laptop Fan

You may not know this this, but your laptop fan controls most of your laptop's mechanical operations. It is heavily involved in the cooling of all your laptop's electronic components. However, when your laptop crawls like a tortoise when you open large applications like photoshop, unexpectedly shuts down after 10-30 minutes, or if your laptop heats up, chances are your laptop fan is crying for help. Fortunately there are a few things you can do to nurse your laptop fan back to health. Here is how to fix your laptop fan.

Unplug Your Laptop's AC Adapter
Unplug Your laptop's AC adapter and remove the battery.Remove the plastic cover concealing the fan. After removing the plastic cover, remove the screws. Now remove the screws on the fan duct.Locate your laptop's air vents (They can be found on the sides of the bottom of the laptop). Then pick a piece of cotton wool and rub it along the sides to clean out pockets of dust.

Spray Canned Air Into The Vents
Then spray  canned air into the vents to remove debris from the vents.Next, open your laptop and clean out  the lint buildup around the fan with a vacuum cleaner.  After vacuuming, you then spray around the electronic components around the fan. Once you're through with the spraying, replace the fan cover, and re-insert the screws.Screw the fan cover back on  reinsert the batteryTurn the laptop on and wait for the fan to start. If it's still not working, you need to buy a a new laptop fan.
