How To Pump Some Life Into Your Old Laptop Battery

We all know thay the laptop battery powers  our laptops. Without them we wont be able to play video games, watch movies, do our spreadsheets, e.t.c.  Unfortunately, with time the battery  become weak. Instead of charging two hours  per charge, it does not  even last half an hour. Fortunately repairing your laptop battery is possible. Here is how to pump some life into your old laptop battery:

Tools Needed
  • Screw driver
  • Xacto knife
Now onward:

Drain All the Power From the Battery

First drain all the power from the battery. Next  remove the battery from the laptop(Not sure how? Find out here) and write down the model number for future reference. Now use a screw driver to pry off the back of the laptop. You will find six separate cell batteries covered in plastic. Once you find the cell batteries, you then write down the part number of the individual cells.

Then, order six new  cell batteries from an electronics vendor to replace the old ones, using the model number from the battery pack  .After that, use an Xacto knife    to cut open the plastic to each cell, leaving the actual batteries exposed. Next,  remove the batteries from the tray, and remove the contacts until the tray is empty.

Replace The Old Laptop Cell Batteries

Next, replace the old  laptop cell  batteries with the new cell  batteries by putting them into the plastic. After replacing the batteries, put the new batteries into the battery case and reconnect the  wires.Note: In case the wires do not connect automatically or were damaged while pulling out the old cell batteries, you may have to solder them to straighten them.. However, in most cases, better positioning of the batteries should be enough to reconnect the wires.  Finally put the battery case back together and insert the battery back into the laptop.Don't forget to charge the laptop before using it.
