How to Change Your Laptop Wireless Network Card To Keep Up With The Joneses.

We all know that in other to get your laptop connected to a wireless network, or if you want to browse on the go,  you must have a wireless card installed in your hard disk. However, you and I know  that wireless technology is ever changing. Meaning that you will have to change your wireless card to keep up with the changes in the wireless industry, Let me show you how to change your wireless network  card to keep up with the joneses. 

  • Turn your laptop off.
  • Remove the old wireless network card from your card slot, following your manufacturer's manual off course. Your card slot should have a button to press and eject the card
  • . Restart the laptop.
  • Remove the wireless card drivers.
  • Click "Start " "Run" to open a run window.
  • Type "devmgmt.msc" in the "Open" text box in the Run window, then click the "OK" key. This takes you to the Device Manager Control Panel.
  • Click to expand the Network Adaptors icon in the device tree.
  • Click the driver icon you want to remove and click "uninstall" in the context menu.
  • Follow the prompts to remove the drivers.
  • Insert the installation CD for your wireless network card in  your laptop's CD drive.  The setup wizard starts automatically.
  • Follow the prompts in the wizard.
  • Place the new wireless card in the card slot. Depending on your manufacturer's manual, you may be prompted to insert the new wireless  card in the card slot while the wizard is running or after it finishes.
  • Connect to your wireless network using the same information as with the previous wireless card to complete the process.
