One fine day you are watching a movie on your laptop when all of a sudden the picture disappears without a trace...I'm sure you'll probably go like "Just when it's getting interesting my monitor decides to do a 360 on me." Well, the cause of your misery is your inverter board. For all you newbies, the inverter board is the most important screen component apart from the LCD screen. The inverter board transfers power from the motherboard to the screen. Without your inverter board, your screen become dim or produces no picture at all. Fortunately it can be replaced. Let me show you how to fix an LCD monitor with no picture

Shut Down Your Laptop

Shut down your laptop and disconnect all cables and external devices from the laptop. Then Remove the battery from the bottom of the laptop.  Also You will need to wear Antistatic Wrist Strap  to avoid electrocution.

        

Open The Display Panel

Open the display panel completely and place the screen at an angle of 180 degrees. Now use  a screw driver to remove the rubber screw covers from the display panel's front cover. The front cover protects the front of the screen. Next remove all screws of the rubber screw covers and remove the front cover from the display assembly. After removing the screws you use a flathead screwdriver to separate the front cover from the display assembly. After performing the separation,  remove all Phillips screws from both sides of the LCD screen. Take  hold of the top of the screen, tilt it forward and then disconnect  the video ribbon cables from the back of the screen.

Locate Inverter Board 

Now locate the inverter board  which is usually on the backside of the screen or the front bottom edge of the screen.  You then remove all materials that hold the inverter board to the screen. They are usually a few Phillips screws or some adhesive tape. Next disconnect the cables holding the inverter board at both ends and then set the inverter board aside.

Now do this procedure in reverse and install the new inverter board .
