Keep Your Laptop in the Shade

I'm sure most of you laptop users must be scratching your head about how to keep  your laptop in the shade  from the  searing heat that you're subjected to each summer. By that, I mean keep your laptop temperature cool. Not only that, but you also have to put up with power outages (I can relate to that) and other weather disturbances that you didn't plan for. Ideally we all like to work with our laptops without outside interference, but we know that it's not possible. So here are a few  tips to help you adapt.

Keep The Temperature Safe

The recommended  outdoor temperature for laptop usage is 10-35 degrees Celsius (or 50-95 degrees Fahrenheit).  In case you feel the urge to flee the extreme outdoor heat to stay indoors, don't  resume right away. Instead, let the laptop cool down enough to match the indoor temperature before starting it up again

Keep Away from Hot Cars

Just like any enclosed space, car heat up quickly, Leave your laptop in a hot car and you risk causing serious damage to your laptop. Heat and the laptop internal components and its casings don't attract.

Keep Away From The Sun
>
Protect your laptop from the sunlight whether it's in use or not.  Here is how you can protect your laptop when exposed to sunlight.
  • Use a glare screen which cuts down on the sun's glare
  • a laptop  hood which protects the laptop display from the sunlight.

Get Away From Humidity

outdoor laptop users claim that it's not just the scorching heat  but the humidity as well. The  Laptop components to do not react well to moisture and could be damaged when overly exposed to it. The recommended range is 10-80%. Anything above that is a recipe for disaster.

A Removable Hard Disk

It pays to have a removable hard disk in this heat.  You accomplish two things with a removable hard disk - you protect your precious data and you also protect your hard disk from the deadly heat. With the disk still planted in the laptop, it would surely have been toast.

 Watch Out for Weather Changes

As you all know, the weather can change suddenly from searing heat to a freak rainstorm. Since a lot of you are on the move a lot, here are some accessories you may need to protect your laptops

  • surge protectors
  • power inverters
  • spare batteries

A laptop stand is just as handy. It helps drive the heat away. Of course, the laptop stand comes in different styles meant to suit your working environment. Some laptop stands come with fans which help repel the heat and  keep your laptop working at the optimum.

By packing your laptop properly, you keep the heat at arm's length.Keep that in consideration when buying other mobile equipment as you will want to shield them from the effects of the hot weather.

So keep your laptop cool in this scorching heat.... If you want optimum performance from your laptop, protect it from the elements.
